A 23-year-old man was hit in the head with a gun by Jose Apolonio Cruz (9/4/78) during an argument that began at the Maverick, 400 S. Redwood Rd. Cruz followed the victim from the Maverick to his residence. As the victim exited his car Cruz hit him in the head with a small handgun. The victim wrestled the gun from Cruz, who fled the scene in a vehicle. The victim called police and gave Cruz’s vehicle description. Responding officers located Cruz driving away from the scene. They stopped Cruz and took him into custody without incident. Cruz had several fraudulent identification cards in his possession. Cruz was booked into jail on the following charges: aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a restricted person, possession of fraudulent identifications and false information to a peace officer.

Police were called on a suspicious vehicle that had its engine running and lights off in the parking lot of Wasatch Electric. Responding officers found Justin McCoy (2/19/83) and David Hilden (11/11/60) inside the vehicle with two spools of wire immediately outside of their car. The business fence had been cut and the spools, valued at $1500 dollars, were positively identified as belong to Wasatch Electric. McCoy and Hilden were booked into jail on charges of theft and trespass.
