TRAX Train Injury Accident

A pickup truck drove through a red light while westbound on 900 South at 200 West. A northbound TRAX train collided with the truck, causing extensive damage to the pickup as well as causing the front car of the train to derail. The pickup truck driver was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. He was cited for a red light violation. A passenger in the vehicle was not injured.

A male suspect entered an ophthalmology business and demanded cash from the employees at gunpoint. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash and a pair of eyeglasses the suspect fled the business. He is described as a male Hispanic adult, 30- 40 years old, 5’8” tall, 250 lbs., wearing glasses, a red puffy vest jacket, and carrying a backpack.
