Suspect Sought in Robbery

The Salt Lake City Police Department seeks the community’s help to identify and locate a man who robbed a 7-Eleven store in Salt Lake City.

At approximately 10:30 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2012, a male suspect entered the store at 1353 W. Indiana Avenue carrying a plastic pistol grip shotgun. He selected two cases of beer and then approached the clerk, displaying the gun. At first pointing the toy gun at the clerk, he then placed the gun and his ball cap on the counter, stating, “there it is,” and left the store without paying for the beer.

The suspect is described as:

  • a male white or Hispanic adult;
  • 30-40 years of age;
  • 5’6” and 140 lbs.;
  • possible tattoo on left side of his face;
  • wearing a dark blue sweat shirt with the word “Michigan” on it, gray pants, dark blue baseball cap;
  • and riding a green BMX-style bicycle.
