Watch Log Sunday February 19, 2012

DAY SHIFT

AFTERNOON SHIFT

1625 Assault/Taser  460 E. Slade Place    12-28752

Nino Duran (11/28/91) became upset during a group session at Valley Mental Health and became physically aggressive towards other members of the group. Duran assaulted a 37-year-old male. When officers arrived Duran continued his aggressive behavior and would not comply with the officers instructions. When officers went to arrest Duran, he attempted to punch one of the officers. After a short physical struggle, officers deployed their Taser with the desired effect. Duran was transported and booked into jail for simple assault, assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, and criminal mischief.


GRAVEYARD SHIFT

0231  Stolen Vehicle/Fleeing   1361 E. Stratford Ave    12-28970

Officers responded to the above location to find a stolen vehicle abandoned in the road way. While investigating that vehicle, a male approached the officers and advised him that his vehicle had been stolen. A little while later, officers spotted the vehicle traveling southbound on 700 E. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle which then fled from them. They did not pursue the vehicle. Later, officers found the vehicle abandoned in the area of 3560 S 300 E. K9 responded and was able to follow a track to the Rancherito’s restaurant located at 3450 S State Street where 5 suspects were found. The investigation confirmed the suspects were involved in the theft of both vehicles. Four juveniles were taken to Juvenile Detention Center. Jesse Archuleta (11-2-93) was transported and booked into jail for 2 counts of possession of a stolen vehicle and felony fleeing.
