SLCPD, Special Olympics Host Torch Run Kick-Off at City/County Building

The Salt Lake City Police Department and Special Olympics Utah will host the Law Enforcement Torch Run Kick-Off Ceremony today at 10 a.m. on the west steps of the City/County Building, 451 S. State Street.

Special Olympics Utah athletes will join with police officers and members of the media to carry the “Flame of Hope” in four directions. The event symbolizes the path that the Special Olympics Torch will take as it travels the state for several weeks before returning to the State Capitol at 8 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, for the Torch Run Final Leg Ceremony.
