Public Asked to Help Identify Vandal Responsible for Damaging Car Tires

The Salt Lake City Police Department is asking the public to help identify a man responsible for more than $10,000 in damages to car tires.

Detectives say victims began filing reports on damaged tires around March 1. Described as a thin white man, the subject initially was active on weekends but seems to have increased his pace in recent weeks, with approximately 100 reported incidents to date.

Although victims as far south as Sugar House have filed police reports, the majority of damaged vehicles are clustered around the Avenues from 400–1000 East, the City/County Building, Main City Library, Abravanel Hall, Energy Solutions Arena and Gateway Mall.

Detectives ask that anyone with information about the identity or whereabouts of the suspect call (801) 799-3000. Callers may remain anonymous. Please reference case #10-71652.
