Police Service Dogs to Deliver Cruise 'Wish' to Sandy Boy

The Salt City Police Department will join with the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Utah tomorrow night to present a wish to Jon Bowen, a 12-year-old Sandy boy.

Bowen, who has long dreamed of becoming a police officer, is especially fond of police dogs. The dream of working in law enforcement has continued, despite a recent diagnosis of Wilms tumor, a cancer of the kidneys that typically occurs in children.

Upon his diagnosis, a social worker referred Jon to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which told him they could make one wish come true. After talking about the many different wish possibilities, Jon declared a wish to go on a Disney cruise with his family.

That wish will come true tomorrow night during a K-9 demonstration at Pioneer Precinct when police service dogs deliver Jon’s Wish Proclamation.
Media outlets are invited to attend this special event.
