Michael
Loomis (4/27/84) contacted the victim of a tractor trailer theft and offered to
tell him where his truck was located in exchange for money. The victim agreed to meet Loomis, who took
him to a location in Sandy where the truck was parked. Loomis then offered to
return more of the victim’s property in exchange for more money. While they were at an ATM the victim’s
daughter called police. Loomis fled the area on foot just prior to the arrival
of officers; however, he was located and apprehended quickly. Loomis was booked into jail on charges of
possession of a stolen vehicle and theft by extortion.
