Police Investigate Apparent Murder-Suicide in Federal Heights

The Salt Lake City Police Department is investigating an apparent murder-suicide in the Federal Heights neighborhood.

At noon today, the Police Department received a call from an out-of-state family member who had been unable to reach her sister for about a week.

Responding officers found three bodies in the home’s basement, including:
• a 73-year-old male,
• a 69-year-old female, and
• a 35-year-old male.

It appears the younger man lived at the home with his elderly parents.

Officers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the case, but they are confident that all involved parties are accounted for.

Names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
